- Alphanumeric originator
- This originator type contains characters from a to z, A to Z, 0 to 9, and the underscore character (_). You can, for instance, spell out your company name. Subscribers cannot reply to alphanumeric originators.
- Delivery notifications
- Delivery notifications are generated for each individual message where provided for in Service Level Agreements. These provide details relating to the delivery status of the message in the operator network. In short, they tell you what happened to the message.
- Latency
- Latency refers to the speed with which the message is delivered to the handset. Different mobile operators have different performance when it comes to delivery speed. mBlox offers different levels of latency depending on the delivery product selected.
- Long Number
- Long number is a standard mobile telephone number and conforms to the numbering system in the relevant country

- Mobile Aggregator
- An aggregator is a mobile telecoms company that acts as an intermediary between companies (i.e. content and brand owners) that want to interact with end users (through their mobile phones) and the mobile operators. Mobile aggregators reconcile the payments for those messages, from the operators, on behalf of clients. Also known as a mobile transaction network. - Mobile Billing
- Mobile billing or mobile payment refer to transactions made via a mobile phone. From a consumer perspective, mobile billing offers convenience and perceived anonymity for purchasing and fraud. It also offers good value, making it an attractive billing option. Mobile payments are perfect for consumers making low-value, one-off purchases or subscribing to longer-term services such as news alerts or ring tone bundles. - Mobile Messaging

- Mobile number portability
- From a mobile subscriber perspective, mobile number portability (MNP) allows subscribers to switch operators while maintaining their MSISDN. MNP is available throughout most of Western Europe but is not available to mobile subscribers in the majority of other countries. MNP on SMS services has made it impossible to determine the network of an MSISDN by its prefix. mBlox has a solution to MNP and provides support for delivery to ported numbers on certain MT products. We ensure that there will be no negative impact on your success delivery ratio caused by subscribers who have changed mobile networks and kept their phone numbers.

- MSIP Interface
- The mBlox Simple Interface Protocol (MSIP) is a socket-based protocol designed for sending two-way SMS traffic. To utilize the MSIP interface, clients use an mBlox provided Java software development kit (SDK) that integrates with and works alongside your application to manage your connection and traffic flow into the mBlox servers. - Numeric originator
- This is the default originator type of an outbound SMS message. It uses the standard format for international MSISDNs—for example, +447812121212. With this originator type, replies can be sent from the handset. Numeric originators are typically used with services, including BigTxt, where replies are collected to an international number hosted by mBlox.
- Originator
- An SMS message consists of two parts: originator and data. The originator on an MT is displayed in the sender field (From:) on the handset. This is what the subscriber sees before opening the message. Depending on the MT product you subscribe to, the originator field can be set as either a short code, BigTxt number or the name of the company/service sending the message. The three commonly used originator types are numeric, short code and alphanumeric.

- payforIT is the UK cross-operator-accredited WAP payment service. payforIT is designed to make payments for mobile content and subscriptions simple.

- Revenue Share
- Percentage of PSMS revenue returned to client from mobile transaction network and operator.
- Reverse Billing
- Reverse Billing (also known as Premium SMS) is application-to-person (A2P) technology that is used by businesses that need to bill their consumers using the mobile channel. It works like a standard text message that is “wrapped” in an invoice which gets billed to the consumer's monthly mobile phone bill or deducted from their pre-pay account. - Short Code
- A Short Code is a "short" mobile telephone number (typically 5-6 characters), which can be used to direct SMS and MMS messages from mobile phones. Short codes are easier to remember than long numbers and are typically used for television voting, signing up to subscription services and one off payments for mobile services.
- Short code originator
- This is a numeric value but is displayed as a network short code without a plus sign preceding the number. Short code originators enable the use of the service in conjunction with national Premium SMS short codes for mobile billing.
- SMPP Interface
- The Short Message Peer-to-Peer Protocol (SMPP) is a socket-based, open industry protocol, designed for sending two-way SMS traffic. SMPP is the recommended connection interface for clients who are already familiar with this protocol or who would prefer not to program in Java. - SMS Aggregator
- An aggregator is a mobile telecoms company that acts as an intermediary between companies (i.e. content and brand owners) that want to interact with end users (through their mobile phones) and the mobile operators. Mobile aggregators reconcile the payments for those messages, from the operators, on behalf of clients. Also known as a mobile transaction network. - Time stamping
- For certain applications—for example, time reporting, fleet management or alert systems—it is critical that messages are time stamped using the subscriber’s local time zone for accurate use on the recipient end. mBlox provides products that guarantee correctly time-stamped messages, adjusted for daylight savings time when applicable, in the GMT and CET time zones.
- Throughput
- Throughput defines the maximum number of messages per second that mBlox processes. It is the sum of total MT, MO and Delivery Notification messages throughout. On higher-end MT products, throughput is a fixed value. On lower-end products throughput varies depending on the destination and can change dynamically over time.
